Common questions

A few useful answers.

Can FortBudget recover my backup passphrase?

No. The passphrase is not sent to or stored by a FortBudget server. Without the correct passphrase, an encrypted backup cannot be restored.

Is a CSV export encrypted?

No. CSV is a readable exchange format. Save and share CSV files only in locations you trust, then delete unneeded copies.

Does deleting app data remove my saved exports?

No. Delete All Data clears the local FortBudget budgeting database. It cannot delete CSV or backup files you saved elsewhere.

Can support see my transactions?

FortBudget does not operate a server that stores your ledger. Support sees only what you choose to include in an email, so avoid attaching sensitive financial information.

How are purchases handled?

If a paid option is offered, Apple processes it through StoreKit. FortBudget receives a verified entitlement state, not your complete payment-card details.

Where can I download FortBudget?

FortBudget is currently in development. This website does not offer an App Store download.
